Each training workshop covers the basics of campaigning and addresses some of the special issues that confront women who run.

Workshops can benefit prospective candidates as well as women who want to manage campaigns or work on them.

What’s in a Workshop?

Education Partner of the Missouri ERA PAC

Missouri Women’s Leadership Coalition

Workshops can range from a 30-minute presentation to a full morning seminar with lunch.  Depending on time, a typical workshop might include the following topics:

n How to make a campaign plan. Making a road map that keeps the candidate and her workers on the same path is essential to success.

n Activating grassroots support is crucial to winning elections.  We’ll teach you how to find and organize volunteers to help you reach out to enough voters to win.

n How to raise money. Learn how to be your own “rainmaker.” Do research on how much you need to win.

n How to state your position on controversial issues such as reproductive choice and ratifying the ERA.

n How to assess your political viability. Have you a track record to run on? How’s your name recognition? Can you raise funds?

n How to manage press contacts.

Former State Representative Vicki Riback Wilson talks about campaign strategies.
